End of Year 12!!!!

Sup guys~~

I haven't been able to get around posting anything cos of Stage Challenge (got home at 11, exhausted, and hungry...).
Stage challenge is OVER!!! But I kinda miss it already. I yearn for that type of party life, where everyone is having such a good time, and dancing around to music... the AIC group, however, was somewhat more placid and calm compared to the other schools, and that pissed me off >< So yeah I got up and tried to get everyone to go on a high like I was xDD
We had a 30min rehearsal time, and TBH, those 3 on stage rehearsals were absolutely FAIL!!!! Like FAIL FAIL!!!!
Around 1 hour before our performance, we started our makeup sessions :D
EYE-LINER!! WHOOP!!! (lucky I didn't get it from a few people, who kinda killed the people they drew eye-liner on. Mine was cool though :D)
The boys spent AGES using Gatsby and hairspray to try and make ourselves look pwettie~~
I then got bored, and wanted to change my hair color. So some genius suggested I spray paint my hair. Good idea? I THINK NOT! (I found this out the hard way when I got home this morning and spent over an hour just trying to get my hair into single strands...)
Our performance was pretty okay, we did better than I expected haha~~
We were the firsts ones on, which started at 7, but we could only leave at half past 11. So what did we do for the next 4 hours? well, you guys can imagine :P
After stage challenge, we went to The Basement and had Ultimate BT Spicy Chicken Wings with The MOST Spicy!! We all pretty much died. JASON ATE 6 OF THEM!!! WTF!!!! I ate one, then rubbed my eyes. After that, my mouth and eyes hurt for like.. ugh.. ==
Overall? It was an AWESOME day!!!!!! Wish I had more of these... sigh...

Ooooo, Year 12 is OVER!!!! Year 13 time!!! SENIOR YEAR!!! WHOOP!!! :D

Sigh fail...

Sup guys~

Lately, I haven't really been thinking of stuff... Mostly because I failed this term's exams... But I have been day dreaming a lot.
One thing I've been thinking about is colors. I know it may sound a bit confusing, but it's totally epic. If we see one color, can we be certain that that is the color that someone else is seeing? Yes, they will say that it is the same color as you say it is, but what if the color they see is actually different? They will still call it the same color because they have grown up all their life being told and learning that that color is that color, but it could be completely different for that person.
Say person A and person B looks at a ball, which they both say is white, but how do we know that both of them are seeing the same color? One of them could be seeing it as blue, the other, red, but they've grown up knowing that it is called white, so they will call it white? WTF???
We will also never know what color that they are Actually seeing because they will always say the same color as you do, but just seeing something different.

Maybe THIS is one of the reasons why some people dress in such bizarre colors, maybe the way they see it is completely different. Maybe the blue and green we see is their black and red, and so they will think it's pretty cool O.o...

Comon guys, post your comments!! I wanna have a discussion on this topic haha :D

Blogging update~

Hey guys~

Well, as you guys know, I haven't been putting up posts as often as I have before. This is because I realize that there isn't any point of posting a post if you don't really have anything productive or interesting to say.
So I'll probably put up a post every 2 or 3 days, and/or when I finally realize something pro that day, or have a sudden epiphany.

So yeah.. hopefully my new posts will be more interesting :D

Peace~~

Group 4 Project Day!!

Well, today, our school had a thing called the 'Group 4 Project Day'. Group 4 in IB is the science group, and so today we had to do a variety of science experiments. Needless to ask, our group did one Chem, one Phys, and one Bio experiment.

For our physics experiment, we burnt various nuts and let them burn under a beaker filled with 60mL of water. In doing this, we can see how much energy each type of nut gives off, and determine which one is more fatty for you :P
The results were quite surprising... the least fatty nut was the peanut. Then it was the cashew, and then the almond. The MOST fatty nut was the walnut, so guys, if you don't wanna get fat, then don't eat walnuts!!!
It was quite fun burning the nuts, especially because the burnt nuts gave off this foul odor that made everyone that came into the lab go 'wth???'

The next experiment we did was the chemistry experiment. In this experiment, we put baking soda with various household acids to see how much 'gas' it would produce by using the downward displacement of water method. Because we didn't know the outcome, the first set of ingredients we used were 20g of baking soda, and 100mL of HCL (HCL is the acid found in human stomachs so.. yeah :P). Not a great idea. As soon as I tipped the acid into the flask, even before I could put the stopper on, the bubbles fizzed out of the flask, and after I managed to put the stopped on, the gas still kept on coming out NON-STOP!! The measuring cylinder we used was wayyy too small (it was 250mL, and the volume of gas produced was something like 1L).
After countless attempts to get a feasible and measurable amount of gas, we ended up using only 2g of baking soda and 25mL of acid (see how absurd our first values were? and even at these levels, the gas almost spilled out of the measuring cylinder...).
The most gas produced was when baking soda was with the HCL... (so guys, it is inevitable that when you eat bread, you'll gas). Vinegar and lemon juice produced the same amount of gas, around 90% of that of HCL. But what was REALLY surprising was the reaction with Coke. The reaction only produced like 5% of gas of that of HCL. WTF? So guys, it's okay to drink coke and eat baking soda without gasing up the place, but don't try with any other acids.. :O

Our last experiment, and probably the most anticipated, was the biology experiment. In this experiment, a friend and I had to consume a 'V' energy shot in one go, and then measure the change in heartbeat rate. The initial rate was 63/min for me, and 72/min for my friend.
After 5 minutes, we measured our rates again. My friend's had gone up to 88!!! but mine STAYED at 63!!!!! LOLWUT!!!! We proceeded to take the rates at 5 min intervals for the next 20mins. My friend's went from 88 to 86 to 68 (lolwut) to 82... Mine went from 63 to 64 to 66 to 62... Wth???? Obviously it didn't have much of an effect on me... but... wtf???

Anyways, when we finished all our experiments, it was like 12, and we didn't have anything else to do... so I watched Glee, while everyone went and did their own stuff.
Then everyone started to file in, and soon almost everyone was in the computer room. There, I witnessed Ralph trying to die by eating Mentos and drinking Diet Coke!! Which failed miserably. He then went on to eat some sugar, and also each some rock candy. Later that day, he kept on complaining how he felt bad for eating so much sugar, but I dunno why...

We were all quite bored by then, so we download, YES!!!, Lode Runner!!! The vintage, all time great, 256 colour game for Windows 95!!! LOL (What is surprising is that Ralph was the one that suggested we play games... O.o) we did this got a good 3 hours... :D

Yeah. Nothing much happened after everyone started to go home. I did, though, manage to go downstairs and witness a group of people trying to man up Leo for 30 minutes xP

So yeah that was my day. It was pretty epic IMO... but normal school starts tomorrow... -sigh-==

Life is life... Blogging life??

I just realized that A LOT of young kids my age are starting their own blogs. These blogs include content regarding school life, social life, or just plain randomness (kinda like mine :P). This really got me thinking, what is the point of spending so much of your time on updating your own blog? Will this get you somewhere? Will it benefit you in anyway whatsoever??
I can speak of this from personal experience, after spending hours writing up stuff, especially that Queen's B'day camp recount. But ultimately, what will this achieve? I assume that everyone has a goal or a general direction that they are wanting to go by writing their own blog. You don't see many kids writing personal diaries nowadays, but the blog is just like a diary!! Expect it sometimes includes random comments from random personnel. So what makes a blog different, apart from having other people read it? What makes it so attracting for the young population, the group that shuns other form of daily recapping through diary writing? So I planned to cook up my own answer.

My first thought is that, because the internet is such a large part of people's life nowadays, and it's so convenient and easy to access, people generally will be more inclined to do things on the internet, instead of any other way. It is much easier to type out a long article than having to write it down, or to record it and somehow make the whole world listen to it. If it is more convenient. then why not take advantage of it and make the most out of it?

High school students, like myself, already write enough at school. We don't want to come back home just to write about how writing at school was sooo boring, so we tend to just come home and slouch down in front of the monitor and start surfing. But we will want to have a recap of how our day went, or some other interesting happenings during the day, without the need to rip out a pen and some paper. So we blog!!! We blog about ANYTHING that comes to our head, be it appropriate or not. We aim to tell everyone else how our life has been, and to express our life in a way that is acceptable to other people, knowing that it may be viewed by millions of other people. And if lucky enough, we might be able to get some feedback and develop. But this isn't the case for everyone.
In my case, I blog to get some of the feelings I had that day off of my chest, be it good or bad. I write so that I can remind myself what happened, and also to reflect. I don't really aspire to show other people because I know that reading about other people's lives isn't that fun... they'd rather go and watch a 'reality' TV show i guess. Some are aimed to show people what I have done, but most are aimed at myself so that when I read, I can think back to why I felt that way, and if there is any room for improvement, and hopefully other people will learn from my mistakes as well. And I like to get a few comments.
Some people write just to show other people. Which is, I guess, a reasonable motive. If they are extremely shy, or have trouble communicating, writing a blog to express their feelings or their life is a great way to show other people what life is like for something like them.
Then there are those people that just promote themselves on their blog. They want to gain recognition and fame through the things that they blog about. OR because they are alienated from real life, and they want at least some recognition in a none direct way. Maybe they have real talent, but people scold them for having that talent.

What do you achieve? Well, the main thing I think that we achieve from updating a blog is recognition. It allows other people to understand you life, and you, a lot more. Allowing them to accept who you are (unless you slander), and stand in someone else shoes.

Well.. this is pretty much all I can think of at the moment... It isn't that much, so I hope other people can add to it.

'Before you judge someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, you will be a mile away, and you will have their shoes' said once a great man, whom I will not mention. xP

Meh..

Got Chem results back today.. not sure if I'm getting a 6 or 7... hopefully a 7 ><

Queen's B'day Weekend - Coromandel!~

So as most of you guys already know, I went to Coromandel on Queen's B'day long weekend, which is why I haven't posted anything new. However, now that I'm back, and also, my exams are over, I'd like to write about the great fun I had down at camp with chamber choir!!

On that cold, chilly morning of Saturday, I woke up, rolled over on my bed, to turn on my phone to check the time. That's when I realised that I was late, and I hadn't packed anything the night before due to a late night over dose of Code Geass.. I began my frantic search of clothes, bags, toiletries, and most importantly, food. After all packing was done, I rushed into the kitchen, grabbed a choc bar from the pantry, and rush into the car, ready for mom to drive me off to church and choir practice. As I was on the car, listening to my iPod, I raced through my memory banks to try and remember if I had forgotten anything, but it turns out I had everything that I needed (however, I had forgotten my shampoo, which, I was soon to find out, a pain in the a**)

Choir practice commenced as usual, and I was only approx. 5mins late. After practice, the leader called for everyone to meet in the foyer with their respective stuff so that we could sort out who would be going in whose car, and if there would be any stops along the tedious ride to the Coromandel Peninsula. After all was sorted, I hopped into my ride, and long, stomach twisting, butt hurting, ride through the mountains to Coromandel, began. It was alright at the start, looking out the window, talking to each other, eating... But soon it got dead boring, so I started to doze off... but before I could fully rest in peace, we arrive at the Papakura BP station :(, but it had McDonald's :D, so I sluggishly got out of the car, and went and bought some lunch.

Then the torture of a ride recommenced. It was SOO boring.. and painful to the backside... I tried to sleep, and also to waste time eating.. but I eventually grew tired of sleeping, and ran out of food, so I decided to, yes that's right, READ!!! I read about 20 pages of 'Everything bad is good for you' (I recommend this book to EVERYONE, especially those Asian kids with parents that nag them to stop watching TV or playing games. This is a good book to support our 'motives' ^^. Btw, can anyone help me find a Chinese translation of this book? I really need to find one for my mom...) until we got 'lost'. Well that what we think we were, so we ended up just heading straight forward into some random bushes (in NZ, some random bushes is anywhere... and usually would mean that you're lost if you address where you are as some 'random bushes'). We got to our designated camp ground, but we were oblivious of that, so just ended up driving in circles around the Cook's Beach town for about 20mins, before we realized that THAT WAS our camp ground. At least we got there safely, and we beat everyone else ^^ (well, we went too far/fast, and forgot that we had to meet up at this one place, so everyone else waited for us when we were 20mins ahead... we didn't go back :P)

We waited for around 20mins for the others, so I decided to walk around the camp, and explore. I discovered that more than half of the space was for caravans/RV's, and there were barely any cabins O.o, which was surprising as the name of the place was called 'Cooks Beach Holiday Resort', and it looked really nice from the outside. There was a playground for kids up to 12 (damn), and also a pool, which I would soon find to be EXTREMELY cold, and fun :P. I went back to car because it started to rain, and got chatting with the driver of my ride. Turns out he used to play DotA as well, and plays WoW now. Finally, everyone came. The girls went and got our room keys, and assigned everyone to a room. I got put into a room with 5 other guys (everyone else's had 3 people), but it was great fun :P. We got our stuff, and headed out for our rooms, where we made ourselves at home. It was pretty decent actually, with a TV, couch, and everything else that we needed, even 'good' coffee!!! (it lacked shampoo, though...)

It was already around 4 when we got there, so we started to prepare dinner (well, we as in the preparing food people), the rest of us bummed around the camp, and just talked. We struggled to get the laptop to display onto the TV, but once we got there, we played 'Who wants to be a Millionaire?', Bible style xD, in Traditional Chinese ==... (Zelin=Fail) until dinner.

After dinner, we had a session (kind of like a youth group), which was actually really interesting.. I realized a lot about life... but I don't wanna go too deep into that atm. If you have any questions, just ask, I'd be happy to answer.

So our service finished, and it's 9:30. It's raining outside, and it's also REALLLLLLY cold. Why not go for a swim in the outdoor, roofless pool that was like 3 degrees? So that's exactly what we did. Not a good idea, but GREAT fun!!! ><. The 4 of us rushed back to our cabins, got changed, and then raced back to side of the pool with no shirt on in the rain. We were all a bit hesitant to jump in at first, so we spent the preceding 5mins warming up... hehehe. I ended up being the first one to jump in. And once I was in contact with the water... T.T"... it.. was.. SOOOOOOO COLD!!!! I jumped right back out of the water. The rain and the wind felt like nothing now. Then everyone else started jumping in... We continued doing this for around 5mins, until I could take it no longer. I dashed straight for the spa pool, and oh boy, did it feel good (if burning is a good feeling). Soon, the rest of the boys joined me.. and we spent the next hour, in the rain, talking about.. stuff.. haha. After I got back to the cabin, I headed straight for the showers. The feeling was.. SENSATIONAL!!! Even more sensational than that Dove Beauty Bar xDD.. I was pretty disappointed at first because there was no shampoo.. So I got out of shower, blow dried my hair and put all my clothes on without the feeling of silky flowing hair. Turns out one of my room mates had shampoo. AND CONDITIONER. Back in the shower I went ^^.

After everyone had finished all their showers, and the other guys had come back from fishing, 4 of us sat around a table and started the traditional camp card games (the other 3 talked about fishing and stuff...). I also put on a pot of coffee :P. After around 1 hour of card playing, and around 50 pushups and unnecessary hugs, we all migrated to the kitchen area where this guy, Neil, started telling the most HILARIOUS stories and jokes!!!!! And he told like 50!!! He had remembered so many! We were literally LOLing!!! LOLDSLKFJSDLKFLOL!!!!! I even ROFLed at one point xD. But good things always come to an end. At around 2 in the morning, Neil finally ran out of jokes, and so we all went to bed :'( (I ended up listening to my iPod till 4 cos it was so hot, and I kept thinking back at the jokes and cracking up under the blanket. Maybe the coffee had something to do as well...).

It's 8 in the morning, most of the other people have already woken up and started doing stuff, except for me and the guy that told the jokes (telling jokes is a tiring profession). I managed to drag myself out of bed, get a glass of water, and then get into the shower (Mmmm... shower...). Then it was breakfast time!! Everyone was there.. except for Neil, so yeah we kinda dragged him out to have breakfast, and to tell a few jokes well he's at it xD.

After breakfast, we had our Sunday service, which took around 1h30m.
Between the time service finished, and the time lunch was planned to start, we had about 1 hour, so guess what we did? Yes, we went out into the pools again xDD (It was also still raining...) This time, Neil was there with us = More JOKES!!! ^^ We talked about some more stuff, like spa pools and arcades (because guys have SOOO much to talk about :P).

See we're all so happy because of the joke ^^ except for the kid cos he doesn't get it xDDD jks jks~

After our relaxing morning spa, we went to lunch, and then started packing up for home :'( -sniff sniff- Yeah nothing much interesting about that...
So then yeah... Took the long boring ride back home (managed to sleep most of the way back. ^^), and then got home.. :/

Overall, this camp was really awesome, and I'm glad that I decided to on this camp (bum to those people that didn't come because they 'had' 'basketball', oh wells, their loss :P).

OOOooo!! Exams are OVER!!!! PARTY TIME!!!! LOL jk, I go to AIC xD

Physics test!!!! Yayyyno... ==

Yeah... Physics Exam today... It's gonna be hard.. and I just found out that I only got 6 for Math!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! ><
(My math teacher walked passed my window, pointed at me, and then did the hand symbol for 6.. -sigh-...)

oh well... time to study~~
Oh oh oh, and I forgot to talk about the one thing that happened yesterday that made my day :P
so stay in tune!! :D

So yeah... Just finished my Physics Test.. it was pretty 'meh'.. :P
In paper 1 (multiple choice questions, no calculators allowed), I kinda forgot about wave motions, and also about latent heat energy (this one because, I think, I misread the question... sigh..) Overall it was pretty oh..kay..
In paper 2, I screwed up in the question about refracting and refraction index, but I think that everything else was allg. -hopefully :P- But yeah... I want a 7 in physics!!!!! ><><><><><

M'kay about what happened yesterday xP
Well, it was around noon, and I was on the bus home. As the bus was stopping on the left side of the road to pick up some more people, I happened to look out on the right side through the window next to me. What I witnessed what quite hilarious, but also quite meh...
A policeman on a motorcycle was in the middle of the lane, horizontally, so pretty much blocking all the traffic from going past (unintentionally I presume). Then all of a sudden, the motorbike fell on its side, and the policeman with it. For the next 10 seconds, the poor chap struggled to pick the bike back up to move it out of the way, but failed to do so... The bike was noticeably too heavy for him to hold up, and that's when the bus started to move. (the driver of the car that was directly blocked by the motorbike was laughing :P)
I thought to myself -lolpolicefail-, laughed for a while, then went 'meh'... The policeman was probably prettttyyy embarrassed ^^

So yeah that's about it hehe :P
Peace~

Essay... sigh...

Truth is, I haven't written an essay in more than 12 months... and I'm supposed to write an end of semester essay today... wish me luck!

The two dramas that I have memorised quotes from are:
'A Doll's House' - Henrik Ibsen
'Medea' - Euripides

I'll talk about them after I sit the exams :P

Just finished.. The Essay question I did was something along the lines of 'In at least two of the plays you have studied, explore specific ways the playwright has shaped and patterned the speeches of the characters, and if they had any significant effects'
lol I ran out of things to talk about after the first 3 pages, so I just ended up writing one page of random stuff.. hahaha
First hour or so was pretty good, however I felt that I began to slip, and I lost my grasp on the stories.. and I forgot some of my quotes... sigh...

At the end, I had about 12mins left, and I was starting to hatch an idea, that I would write another essay at the back of this one, saying why I should get a good mark in this essay, and also draw a centaur (my English teacher is obsessed with medieval stuffs) with a rope around his neck, and a platform beneath him with another person on the side holding onto a leaver, and saying 'if I don't get a good mark, the centaur gets it'. :P

But I ended up not doing it.. cos.. yeah.. instead I ended up reading my essay aimlessly for 4 more times before the examiner told us to stop. So yeah.. that's about it haha :)

Commentary

I just finished my English A1 Paper 1 - The Commentary.

We had two pieces of literature to pick from. One poem, and one prose. The poem was about two goldfish in a bowl, and how the love between them died as the female goldfish came to realisation that she wanted a life outside the bowl, but the male goldfish can only provide her with happiness within the bowl. I liked the poem as the whole poem was put in brakets, except for the last stanza where is said:

(the reason, she said
she wanted)
(and he could not give)
a life
beyond the
(bowl)

The 'life beyond', was not put in brackets (which looked like the exteriors of a goldfish bowl), showing a life that was outside the bowl, and I think that this was really cool.

The prose which we had (and which I ended up writing about), was about a women in her house, and how a series of events in her front garden arouses her memories of how her husband died. These memories become so powerful and vivid and hurtful to her that at the end, she succumbs to the pain and is 'taken away' by the memories, and how the memories 'swallowed' her 'covered her up'.

I feel that the points which I wrote about were pretty good, however I have doubts whether the deliverance of these points were good enough... sigh... oh well.. Hopefully~~
