Sigh fail...

Sup guys~

Lately, I haven't really been thinking of stuff... Mostly because I failed this term's exams... But I have been day dreaming a lot.
One thing I've been thinking about is colors. I know it may sound a bit confusing, but it's totally epic. If we see one color, can we be certain that that is the color that someone else is seeing? Yes, they will say that it is the same color as you say it is, but what if the color they see is actually different? They will still call it the same color because they have grown up all their life being told and learning that that color is that color, but it could be completely different for that person.
Say person A and person B looks at a ball, which they both say is white, but how do we know that both of them are seeing the same color? One of them could be seeing it as blue, the other, red, but they've grown up knowing that it is called white, so they will call it white? WTF???
We will also never know what color that they are Actually seeing because they will always say the same color as you do, but just seeing something different.

Maybe THIS is one of the reasons why some people dress in such bizarre colors, maybe the way they see it is completely different. Maybe the blue and green we see is their black and red, and so they will think it's pretty cool O.o...

Comon guys, post your comments!! I wanna have a discussion on this topic haha :D

  1. it bothers me that you're using american spelling. also I have thought of this before. but it just comes down to what we define colour as, not necessarily as what we individually perceive. sure the concept is interesting, but as long as the definition of eg. 'red' is light with 650nm wavelength 450THz (approximations obviously). It doesn't matter what the individual perceives as 'red', as long as the definition exists as that frequency/wavelength the meaning of 'red' light is universal.

it has been proven however, that everyone perceives green light as the same colour. (not proven for any other colour, but I imagine since 1 is the same all the others should be as well. just my hypothesis anyway)

  3. Well, if it is proven that everyone sees the same green, how do we know that green is not the turning point color of all other colors? What if some colors on the left of green are those on the right for other people?
